The latest strategic land purchase and more in the 2011 TECC Fall newsletter!

President’s Message. It’s that time again for my year end column, and first let me say thank you for all the support you have given TECC since our beginning in 1990. Together we have celebrated the preservation of thousands of acres of open space in the Escondido Creek watershed. Last year as you remember we announced the purchase of 400 plus acres on Bottle Peak and
100 acres of land contiguous with the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve. This year we’ve been just as busy working on open space preservation, but getting deals done has been more difficult. The update of the County’s General Plan put several deals on hold while legal entanglements with bank-foreclosed land slowed down other deals. But we are still very optimistic that with your help we will announce the purchase of some key large additional parcels in 2012. To read the rest of the newsletter click here
