Honoring Don Nelson

Don Nelson, a long time visitor and volunteer at the Elfin Forest reserve, passed away on February 25th, 2023.
Don loved spending time at the reserve, serving as a volunteer on the Elfin Forest Trail Patrol, participating in many of the programs it offers and interacting with the community of people who also visited and volunteered.
Don shared his love of the reserve with his family, bringing them to visit and enjoy the plants and nature.
In honor of Don’s love for the reserve and his interest in supporting preserving the reserve for future generations, the family invites donations to the Escondido Creek Conservancy in lieu of flowers through this personalized link.
