Photo Contest Winning Entries on Display at the Interpretive Center

Congratulations to our nine 2011 Elfin Forest Interpretive Center Photography Contest Winners now on display at the Elfin Forest Interpretive Center Honoring Susan J. Varty through March.
Annually, this contest celebrates the beauty of the natural environment of the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve and is sponsored by The Olivenhain Municipal Water District and The Escondido Creek Conservancy.  All photos were taken in the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve by amateur photographers.  We encourage people to visit the Reserve throughout the year and explore our 784 acres with their cameras.  Information on the contest is posted annually in September of each year on the Conservancy website at and on the Olivenhain Municipal Water District website at  We appreciate all of the over 70 entries we received for the contest this past year.
Some of our visitors comments:
“The large photographs are truly spectacular and well worth a seeing.”
 “Loved the photographs.”
“The detail of the high resolution photos is amazing.”
