Escondido Creek Adventure Camp: Now Enrolling for Summer 2022!

The Escondido Creek Conservancy’s 5-day summer day camp returns this summer!

Now enrolling youth ages 7-10!
Escondido Creek Adventure Camp is a wildly engaging 5-day outdoor summer day camp. Campers explore the enchanting Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve, where they discover the natural world by hiking, playing, and conducting hands-on science! The wide variety of activities includes guided exploration, arts and crafts, games, science experiments, storytime, visits from special live animal ambassadors, and more! Each of the five days at camp will have a different theme, including Exploration and Discovery, Plants and Pollinators, Amazing Animal Adaptations, Watershed Wonders, and Pollution & the Solution

Each day begins and ends at Grape Day Park in downtown Escondido, allowing the campers the opportunity to observe the connection between the urban portion of the creek upstream and the more natural section of the creek downstream, plus it allows them the chance to use the playground and socialize with their fellow campers. We provide transportation from Grape Day Park to Elfin Forest and back.

This 5-day summer day camp program costs $275 per camper.

Camp Scholarship Information
We are currently fundraising to offer a limited number of scholarships to help families with financial need.  A very limited number of scholarship may be available to help make the cost of camp more affordable for eligible households.  In order to qualify for a summer camp scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
  1. you must reside in Escondido,
  2. your child must attend an Escondido public school,
  3. your child must receive free or reduced lunch from the school that they attend, and
  4. your child cannot have previously attended Escondido Creek Adventure Camp.

If all of these things are true for your child and you would like to request to be added to the waitlist to receive a scholarship for our summer camp program, then please contact Ariel Reed: [email protected] (para Español: [email protected]).  Depending on the funding we have available, along with the financial need, scholarships can help reduce the cost of the program by $25, and up to $275.  However, even if you join the scholarship waitlist, there are no guarantees that you will receive a scholarship, and spaces for campers fill up on a first-come-first-serve basis, regardless of scholarship status.

The Escondido Creek Conservancy Education Fund.

Our education programs are reaching more students now than ever before, but with greater impact comes greater costs. We have launched the Escondido Creek Education Fund to sustain our educational programs and continue connecting students to nature.

The Escondido Creek Conservancy’s education team brings local students out into nature–often for the first time in their lives. Exposing students to nature helps them understand why it is so important for us to protect natural spaces. Our education programs are reaching more students now than ever before!
