Escondido Creek Trail – Bike Ride

We are going to try something a little different for the February 3rd Welcome to the Watershed, a bicycle tour of the Escondido Creek trail in the City of Escondido! The City won an $8 million trail improvement grant with work just now underway. You will get a chance to learn first-hand the before and after of the trail along the linear park to-be that is along the Escondido Creek Channel. For the, approximately,15 mile ride the pace will be leisurely and include informational stops. We also find the group of volunteers from Love Esco beautifying the trail and join the clean up efforts, if we wish. If we are fortunate, we will find a red tailed hawk or other wildlife utilizing this urban channel of the Escondido Creek.

Later, we’ll ride into the historic downtown to see the new murals along Escondido’s Alley Art route before stopping for a no-host lunch at one of Escondido’s great little restaurants. If you’ve wondered about the Escondido Creek trail and changes underway in this fine city, now is your chance to get to know it better, with a fun group of outdoor enthusiasts.

We’ll meet at the Escondido Transit Center in the NW parking lot at 9am. Group size is limited and more details will be sent, closer to the 3rd, for those that register.
