Grateful For Our Veterans
Last week, the Conservancy participated in the American Post 149’s first annual VetFest–honoring 100 years of hometown heroes and their contribution to our city, state, and nation. Escondido was the only city to host a Veteran’s Day celebration in North County that was combined with a parade. Several high school marching bands took to the parade route on Grand Avenue, alongside veterans and other local groups.
Our float, the majestic Bald Eagle soaring over our watershed, was accompanied by staff, board members, veterans, and families of those memorialized. We were so grateful to be a part of an event where the community can come together to celebrate our hometown veterans and show support for our military members and their families. We salute our veterans for protecting the natural beauty found in our hometown and we look forward to joining in the festivities in 2020!
If you would like to be part of our float in the 2020 Vetfest please let us know!
